MorningStar was founded in 2003 by Ken Jaeger, who envisioned a senior living community where faith, dignity, and purposeful living could flourish together. Inspired by a cherished relationship with his grandmother, Barbara, and driven by a deep calling to serve, Ken built MorningStar to be more than a place to live; it’s a place to be known, cherished, and celebrated.

Love Knows No Bounds
Central to the brand story of MorningStar Senior Living is a vision of our place in the wider world. While our first love is seniors and the elevation of their lives, we also prioritize ways in which we can make an impact far beyond our community walls.
In this spirit, the MorningStar Foundation was established to lend our abiding support of philanthropic initiatives that align with the values and priorities of MorningStar Senior Living. With our time, talent, and treasure, we direct our attention both internationally and locally.
International Love
Founder/CEO Ken Jaeger has walked the path of poverty many times in developing nations, each trip a profound and humbling experience, deepening his resolve that MorningStar play a central role in impacting the world for good.
Local Love
We see volunteerism within local neighborhood nonprofits as another way to honor God through servant-leadership, another way to live out our mission and culture of Radiance. We also recognize that volunteering together makes for wonderful teambuilding.

While the company was founded on a Judeo-Christian tradition, we honor all faith systems and worldviews among our team members and residents. Our preeminent goal is to meet a resident’s social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs, all of which contribute to creating a comfortable home and offering truly compassionate care.
